Apple Ditch Android Users: "Life is easier on iPhone"

Some Android users have been bragging about the
simplicity of Android OS over
iOS but Apple want to prove
you wrong. Apple recently
updated some parts of its official website , which now includes a section dedicated
to Android users who may
want to switch to iOS. Apple is trying to lure
Android users to ditch their
Android device into the
dustbin and get a branded
iPhone device. Apple is
actually bragging about the fact that iPhones are very
fast considering their custom
chipsets, great cameras
(iPhone 2MP camera out shine
some Android 16MP camera
px), offer enhanced privacy and security and generally,
iOS is simple to use.Apple mentioned that "Life is easier on iPhone. And that
starts as soon as you turn it
on." By scrolling down the page, you'll discover several
reasons why Apple thinks
that switching to an iPhone is
a good idea - starting with
the fact that transferring your
data (after downloading the dedicated Move to iOS app
from Google Play) is easy as a
breeze. We can really say apple have
advantage here because it’s
also easy to transfer data
from iOS to Android in
seconds when you turn the
table around. Apple has uploaded a series
of 16 sec short videos on its Youtube channel here that underline the easiness of
ditching your Android
handset for an iPhone. Are you planning to switch to
an iPhone anytime soon? Let
us know.

Does This Mean Anything to You, Legit or Not... New GTworld Mobile App

Does this suggest anything to
you? Looking closely at the
new GTworld mobile app, a
better improvement to what
they have before, initiate
transaction with fingerprint or facial ID… inshort, good to
behold but I’m kind of
skeptical about something,
considering the rate at which
fraudulent activities are been
carried out online and in the banking sector this days. I paid close attention to the
developers email and I was
expecting to
see@gtbank.com but what I
saw left a big question mark
on my mind @gmail.com which is totally uncalled for. I
proceeded to check the old
GTbank mobile and it
is @gtbank.com, checked
zenith mobile app and it is
@zenithbank.com, same goes to Firstbank, UBA and some
notable banks. This may not mean anything
to you but remember that
when you open the app,
you’ll be required to login, put
in your ATM card pin. Developers, is this legit or
not? For me I don’t know that
is why I’m asking…

whatsapp new pine chat on all android

WhatsApp has finally
introduced the new pin chats
feature for all Android users.
The feature was earlier this
month rolled out to Android beta users. The pin chat feature in WhatsApp allows
users to pin favorite chats on
top of the Chats tab. With the
new feature, WhatsApp users
can pin up to three contacts
on top of rest of the conversations. One of the biggest highlights
of the new Pin feature is that
once you pin a chat, it will
remain on the top of your
chat list, irrespective of your
dialogue or conversation timings with the individual or
group concerned. Users will
be able to see any new chats
or conversations following
the pinned chats. How to Pin Chat? >>Tap and hold on any chat
and you’ll get a new pin icon
in the action bar next to the
delete, mute, and archive
functions. For now, only 3 chats can be
pin after which get a small
toast notification
message saying you can't pin
more.iPhone users will have to
wait slightly longer – but the
feature is likely to come to at
some point in the near future. We are still expecting the un-
send features to be rollout to
beta users any moment from
now.

Nokia 9 Flagship Android Phone With Dual Rear Cameras Leaked on Video

One of the most interesting
aspects about this Nokia leak
is that one of these units
features a dual camera setup
at the back. As posted by Evan Blast on a popular sharing website Vimeo, the
video was posted by a
longtime Nokia brand
photographer who now
works with HMD, serving as a
very tangible bridge between the storied brand’s past and
its present/future.
Speculation has been heavy,
though, partly because the
leftmost device sports dual
camera lenses on its
backside, suggestive of a
high-end, flagship-class phone. This has led some
observers to posit that it
represents the long-rumored Nokia 9 — which has also been tipped to utilize a pair
of primary cameras. From last month reports, the Nokia 9 is expected to run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-
the-box and will sport a 5.5-
inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels)
OLED display. It is said to be
powered by a Qualcomm
Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM.

The other smartphone, second
from left (in the image at the
top), could potentially be Nokia 8.

Or possibly a lower spec narrow down to Nokia 7
but will definitely be higher
to spec to Nokia 6.

Waiting for more update on
this.

Leak: Samsung's First Dual Camera smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was
earlier tipped to be the first
Samsung phone to feature a
dual-camera setup, new leaks
suggest that company's C10
smartphone might leapfrog and take the honour. New
leaked images of Samsung
Galaxy C10 not only suggest
that the phone will feature a
dual camera
setup but also that it will be the first smartphone from the
South Korean company to
have this camera
configuration. The leak, as you can see in
the image above, focuses
only on a small portion of the
device's back, revealing
things like rose gold color,
antenna bands, dual-LED flash, and power/lock key. It
might likely come with
Snapdragon 660 chipset. No much information about
the specification of this
device, so we await official
announcement from the
company for more details.

Google Announces Android Go For 1GB Ram or Less Devices

I’m sure you still remember Android One Program… Well this isn’t Android One 2.0 but
something different.
Something Google called
Android Go. At its IO
developer conference, Google
has unveiled Android Go; an initiative created to cover the
empty tracks left by Android
One Program. Android Go is a version of the popular mobile operating
system that has been
optimised for smartphones
with 1GB or less RAM, thus
primarily aimed at emerging
markets. It's essentially a set of features and apps for
Android, which are set to
debut with Android O, that
are designed to limit both
devices' system resources
and mobile data, helping people in developing nations
have a reasonable mobile
experience.
What is Android Go? Android Go focuses on three
things - optimising the latest
release of Android to run
smoothly on entry-level
devices, a rebuilt set of
Google apps that uses less memory, storage space and
mobile data and finally a
version of Play Store that will
not only provide the entire
catalogue but will also
highlight apps specifically designed for entry-level
users. These three features
will ship to Android O devices
with 1GB or less memory
starting in 2018.

Android Go devices will have
data management and
savings in quick settings, and
teaming up with carriers will
let you keep track of how
much data you’ve been consuming with the ability to
top up.

Android Go apps Google is also designing apps
like YouTube Go, Chrome and
Gboard to use less memory
and are easy on mobile data.
The company is making
optimisations to the system UI and the kernel to allow an
Android O device built with
the Go configuration to run
smoothly on as low as 512MB
to 1GB of memory.

Lastly, a special, Android Go- exclusive Play Store was also announced, designed
specifically to highlight apps
built with Google's so-called
"Building for Billions" best
practices for app developers,
or in other words, made to conserve data and device
resources, such as Facebook
Lite and Skype Lite.

The new play store will show apps designed for low- end device
The first Android Go devices
are going to arrive in 2018,
Google says. The new play store will show apps designed for low- ends

PES 2018 Release Date & Everything You Need to Know

In an attempt to beat FIFA 18
to an official reveal, Pro
Evolution Soccer 2018 has
been announced by Konami.
The latest entry in the long-
running football series will hit the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One,
and Xbox 360.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2018’s
release date is September 12
in America and September 14
in India and Europe, and casts
its focus on improving its PC
profile. A statement reads: "Centred on the concept that
PES 2018 is 'Where Legends
are Made', the new game hits
the floor running with new
features, new ways to play, a
PC version to the standard of the leading console
iterations, and an unrivalled
gameplay experience."
A new user interface;
improvements to dribbling,
ball control and set pieces;
better lighting and contextual
shielding all serve to bolster
last year's 2017 outing—with its PC guise said to have
undergone "substantial"
improvements. One of the major new
features to the way PES plays is called "Real Touch +,"
which Konami says allows
players to "react to receiving
a ball using permissible parts
of the body, such as chest,
head, and legs to bring a pass under control dependent on
the height and pace of the
incoming ball." This, it says, is
done through "simple
movements of the control
stick." PES 2018 is due September

Ransomware Virus: NCC Warns People About The Dangerous WannaCry Attack

The Nigerian
Communications
Commission (NCC) in
fulfilment of its statutory
mandate to assure the
security and integrity of the national
telecommunications
network wishes to alert all
operators and their
respective subscribers of the
recent outbreak of a Ransomware Virus known
as “WannaCry”.
The Ransomware is capable
of infecting and encrypting
all files on a system or any
smart device until an
amount is paid for a
decryption key, or other means of retrieval (which
may lead to data loss) are
used to recover the system
as an alternative. This
situation demands that
proactive measures be taken by all players in the
telecommunication eco-
system to forestall the
hazards of critical data loss,
financial losses and
ultimately network/ business disruption. The NCC therefore wishes to
advise that the following
protective measures be
taken, amongst others:

✔ To obtain software patch
released by Microsoft in
March 2017 to fix the
Ransomware Virus.

✔️ To plan scheduled
penetration tests on the
networks and systems to
ensure protection and
availability at all times.

✔ Subscribers who use their
smartphones as substitutes
to computers for internet
access should protect
themselves and their
devices by:

✔️ Not opening e-mail
attachments/links from
unknown sources.

✔ Not clicking pop-ups and
applets on unknown
websites.

✔ Installing effective
antivirus software for their
mobile devices.

Furthermore, the NCC has
taken the following
proactive measures in
fulfilling its statutory
mandate;
The Commission has advised
Mobile Network Operators
(MNOs) to initiate regular
assessment and audit of
their cybersecurity
readiness. All operators should continue to ensure
that their backup/ disaster
recovery strategies are in
place and up to date.

✔ The Commission has
further advised all operators
to ensure continued
deployment of effective
firewalls, login passwords
and antivirus management regime.

✔ The Commission will
continue to provide more
cybersecurity training for its
staff.

✔ The Commission is
working towards creating a
link with the Cybersecurity
Alert System on its website
so that current information
on global cyber threats/ incidents could be
immediately communicated
to stakeholders. Sus!!!

What Bit is Your Smartphone Running... 64-bit or 32-bit Operating System?

There comes a time in every
Android user’s life when an
important question has to be
answered: is my device
running a 32- or 64-bit
operating system? It can be a rough, troubling time if you’re
not sure how to answer that
question. But we’re here for
you, and we’ll help walk you
through what to do should such
a scenario arise. Just breathe, it’s going to be fine.A lot of us really don’t care
what bit our Android runs nor
the operating system version.
What we care about is good
spec, slay camera to capture
the slay queen and good battery life. But there is something I think
you should know… the bit your smartphone is running; is it 64-bit or 32-bit operating
system? I know some of you
will be thinking is my Android now a Laptop? Yes! A portable device that can do
everything you can do on
system.
So, the first thing you’ll want
to do is download and
install AnTuTu Benchmark. We’re not going to run any
benchmarks here, just use it to
get some processor
information.
What Does 32- and 64-bit
Mean? When a processor is labelled
as 32- or 64-bit, it’s referring
to the amount of values that
can be stored on that
particular processor’s
register. A 32-bit processor has room for 2^32 values
(around 4 billion, rounded
down), while a 64-bit
processor can store 2^64 of
them (18 quintillion, rounded
down). This means that 64- bit processors have four
billion times more addresses
at their disposal than 32-bit
processors – a clear
improvement! Advantage of 64-bit Android
Processor over 32-bit 1. 64-bit phones will do everything better and last
longer 2. 64-bit phones can handle more memory: 32-
bit can handle upto 4GB
ram while 64 bit can
handle more than that. 3. 64-bit phones run your existing apps faster Is my Smartphone 64-bit or
32-bit? There is a simple way to
know
>>Go to Google Play store and
download Antutu benchmark

Find the line labeled “Android”
in this list—it should be the
third entry. To the right of this,
it will show the Android
version you’re running and
what bit the OS is.
>>Find the line labeled
“Android” in this list - To the right of this, it will show the
Android version you’re
running and what bit the OS
is.
>>You should see the bit your
device is running. When next you are ask if your
smartphone runs 32-bit or 64-
bit operating system, I guess
you’ll know the answer to
give without thinking twice. Now tell us, Is your
smartphone running 64-bit or
32-bit operating system and
what type of device is that?
that’s it. That is literally
it. See? You were stressed for
nothing.

Are You unable to Upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat? Upgrade it Here

Android smartphones are
designed to be updated and
upgraded anytime there is a
release of a new update. If
you are using an Android
phone that has never been updated before, it will
definitely malfunction. It will
interest you to know that
some users are still running Kitkat and Lollipop when they can clearly hear the
vibration of Android O at the
corner (this is not
encouraging at all).It is an interesting fact to
note that Android Nougat gives you a better user
experience compared to the
previous version of Android
and I’m pretty sure that
Android O will wow you. This thread is going to be for
those whose device supports
an upgrade to Android 7.0
Nougat but don’t know how
to go about it… or those who
want to know if an upgrade is available for their devices.
I know of some infinix & Tecno devices that are
already running Android 7.0
nougat, Gionee, Xiaomi and
others.
Kindly drop your comment
under this post with your device type and info will be
provided if your device
supports an upgrade or not
and how to go about.
A smartphone is regarded as
a disaster if it repels upgrade;
is yours a disaster or a
device? Why stay on Android
4.4 Kitkat when you can
willfully upgrade your device to Android 7.0 nougat make it fast and applie yours.

No Police Officer Has The Right To Access or Search Your Phone

It's no more news that some
people in the Police uniform
go to the extent of
requesting for civilians
mobile phones and have
access to them but the real truth is this; it's illegal for a
Ploiceman to search your
phone. Too many Nigerians have
horror stories of Police
officers stopping them for
arbitrary searches, and then
invading their privacy by
insisting on going through their mobile phones. Again
and again, people keep
being forced at gun point to
submit their phones for
inspection. Officers go
through bank details, SMS, social media interactions
and all, in violation of
personal privacy. And till
now, Police authorities have
simply carried on like they
could not care.However, Abayomi
Shogunle, Officer in Charge
of the Police Complaint
Response Unit (CRU) has
tweeted that the Inspector
General of Police has sent out a circular to all police
commands banning the
“illegal search of mobile
phones”. In our opinion, if searching
citizen’s mobile phones is
already illegal, what is the
essence of a ban? Shouldn’t
the illegality of it just be
pointed out to the rank and file? But we won’t nitpick.
We are glad to see the IGP
take a stand for the rights of
citizens to privacy. We can
only hope that this will be
clearly communicated to officers on the streets
where the personal
violations take place on a
daily basis. The other
question is, will the police
comply? after all, citizens see them break other laws
with impunity everyday. For a long time, Nigerians
have asked if it's right for
police officer to search your
mobile phones during a
routing stop and search
exercise on the road. Now, the Lagos State Police PRO,
Dolap Badmus has shed
more light on the issue
saying it is wrong.
In her words, 'Your phone is
private, it's your private property because people do
alot of private stuffs on
their mobile phones so it's
wrong. Police officers have
no right to do that except
there is a reasonable ground to do so'.

How To Disable iPhone Camera Sounds When Taking Pictures

When taking pictures with
an iPhone, the camera
sound makes it realistic as if
you are shooting with a
normal stand-alone digital
camera which is fun but in some cases and situations,
you wouldn't want people
to know you are taken
photos and iOS made it so
complicated that most users
don't know how to disable the camera sound when
taking a secret snapshots.
This same thing happens on
Android devices but the
settings to turn it off is
more simpler than on iOS devices so let's see how to
HOW TO DISABLE iPHONE CAMERA SOUND ✔ Tap on the Mute button on
the side of your iPhone
before taking a picture.
✔️ Alternatively, you can
launch the music app and
play a song. Then lower the volume of the song to zero,
then launch the Camera app
and take your photo. ✔ You can also disable
Camera sounds on your
jailbroken iPhone. All you
have to do is to rename the
sound effect file within the
operating system to disable iPhone camera sounds.
There are several ways to
do this, which include:
✔ Using a Jailbreak app to
mute the shutter sound: The
app is called Silent Photo Chill. It mutes the sound of
both your iPhone camera
and screenshots.
✔️ To rename the sound file
on your iPhone, you need a
tool called iExplorer or iFile on your jailbroken phone.
✔️ First, connect your iDevice
to SSH.
✔️ Then use this command to
rename the shutter sound
effect: mv/System/Library/ Audio/UISounds/
photoShutter.caf to /
System/Library/audio/
UISounds/photoShutter-
off.caf. Is this post helpful? I hope it
answers your question as to
how to stop sounds when
taking photos with an
iPhone. Let's hope Apple
make it more easier in future.

Opera Bakes Whatsapp, Telegram and Messenger into its Latest Browser Install Download

Opera is working hard to
make its browser one of the
best with latest feature.
We've already seen it roll out
low-power mode and a fully-
featured VPN, but now it's making things a lot more
social by integrating
messaging apps like WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram into its sidebar. Opera’s latest update for its
desktop browser makes its
easier to stay on top of
conversations from various
messaging apps, by baking
their services right into the app.The feature works in two
ways. First, you can pin the icons to the sidebar and click
them when you feel the need
to chat. The other option is to
pin the chat window so that
it sits alongside your current
tab. It also gives you the option to drag and drop photo
into the messenger icon and
the browser will take care of
the rest. Fire up Opera and you’ll now be able to access Facebook’s Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram right from the browser’s sidebar. You can
switch between them
whenever you like, pin the
messaging tab for easier
access and use shortcuts to
jump from one service to the other. thanks

NCC Warns Nigerians To Beware Of Fraudsters Doing This

The Nigerian
Communications
Commission (NCC) has
cautioned members of the
public against letters of
contracts purportedly awarded by the commission
in circulation, saying they
are fake. The commission said in a
statement on Saturday in
Lagos, that its attention had
been drawn to the
circulation of letters of
award of various contracts purportedly written by its
Secretary. “The commission wishes to
categorically state that
these letters were not
issued by the commission. “When contracts are to be
awarded by the
commission, adverts are
published in various
newspapers, the Federal
Tenders Journal and our websites. “The procurement process
adopted by the Commission
is always transparent and
can be duly verified. “The general public and
corporate organisations are
advised not to transact
business with the
unscrupulous persons
issuing these fake letters,’’ it said. The telecommunications
regulator urge members of
the public to ensure that
thorough diligence was
conducted in all cases to
avoid falling victim to the peddlers of the fake letters
of award. It said that offers of the
fake letters of award should
be reported to the
commission or the law
enforcement agencies. “Any person who deals with
such peddlers of fake letters
does so at his/her own risk,”
the commission said.

MTN, Airtel & Etisalat Lose 1.66 million Subscribers except Glo

The system statictis from NCC
shows that there are over
150 million active
telecommunication lines in
Nigeria using the GSM, CDMA
or VOIP networks. And data contributes immensely to the
growth of the networks

From the above sentenceshows that Nigerian Telecom company
lost over 1.66 million subscribers on its Global
System for Mobile
Communications (GSM)
network in March 2017. According to statistics, all GSM
operators witnessed a
decline in its subscriber’s
population except Globacom during the month.Information on active
subscribers line of major
telecom companies in Nigeria
(NCC Report, March 2017)The information showed GSM
operators’ active customers
decreased by 1,662,350 on the 153,661,547 subscribers
recorded in February 2017. MTN loss 60,391,959 users, Airtel loss 34,656,605 subscribers, Etisalat customers dropped by 566,408 in March 2017. In contrary, data from Globacom
showed an increase of 78,372, giving a total of 37,328,827 customers, as against 37,250,455 in
February 2017. Increase in Globacom’s active
customers is due to its
competitive internet data
plans. Hence, a lot of
smartphone users are
switching to the network to take the opportunity of this
low internet data cost. But
now that Globacom has
reduced their data cap by 100%, will they still experience increase or
decrease by the end of April? Ntel on the other hand is waxing stronger… Ntel had 58,590 consumers subscribing
to its products and services in
March 2017 which indicates
an improvement from its
53,586 in February 2017. MTN still has the largest
market share of 39.73%, followed by Glo 24.56%, Airtel 22.80% and Etisalat 12.91%. Information on active

NCC to Start Ranking & Saction Telcos For Poor Services

As you can see in Nigeria Nigeria (most especially in your
area), I’m pretty sure you
know without me
mentioning any name.
However, NCC has threatened
to sanction telcos who are performing below the
industrial average with
consistently poor service
delivery. According to NCC, the key
performance indicators (PKIs)
of the NCC when applied to
the services of the telcos
showed that they were
performing below par. This got to the highest level
especially in the months of
October, November,
December 2016, he said.We invited the operators
and laid bare what was
happening to the quality of
service which has degraded
to unacceptable level,”
however, the service providers have complained of
lack of infrastructure, denial
of right of way and the
dearth of foreign exchange to
procure telecoms equipment.
This is What NCC Will do The NCC is going to impose
sanction, and there will be
ranking on the quality of
service so Nigerians will
know which to patronise. NCC will be taking compliance
action to compel the service
providers to provide
